EMPTY GLASS APPLICATIONS

The seal is applied to the glass container directly after the forming and inspection process, at the cold end section, when the glass reaches a temperature of = 41ºC and is virtually sterile.

The contamination begins when the temperature drops below 20°C and continues throughout the entire logistic process (handling, palletization, storage and transportation) from the glassworks to the client (Filling Company).

The Ribipack Seal is proven to prevent humidity and moisture in the glass container and preserve the hygienic quality for prolonged periods, even in the case of open air storage.

THE SEAL      back up
The Ribi Seal consists of two films that are laminated together. The seal is irremovable
and non-reusable.
The first layer, in contact with the bottle, is an elastomer with good sealing and mechanical gripping properties.
The second layer is the external layer and has the mechanical stability necessary to prevent any damage caused by stacking and transportation.
This layer can also be printed on.
Both layers have special physical, chemical and mechanical properties, made of non-toxic and food-grade materials that comply with FDA
standards (Food and Drug Administration), and provide an excellent barrier against bacteria and oxygen.
The seal adhesion to the glass container is mechanical, no glues or other bonding agents are used and its removing operation ensures that there is no risk of plastic fragments falling inside the container, thus preserving its sterility.

THE SEALING MACHINE      back up
The Ribipack sealing machine performs a high speed fully automated industrial process. The sealing machine is placed in the glass plant cold end section, directly after the quality inspection station.
The machine is available as a standalone version, mounted on a SGCC chassis, or as a sealing module integrated with the existing quality inspection machine.
The sealing head is available in a Round Ring Edge version (mostly for bottles), and in a Universal Ring Edge version which can process both round ring edge and sharp ring edge seals (mostly for jars).
The sealing head and the tooling are available in different formats, each covering a different range of seal sizes to meet the client’s specific requirements.
The sealing machine can also be provided of an additional optical control module which checks the quality of the seal application.

UNSEALING MACHINE     back up
The Ribipack unsealing process is a high speed fully automated operation which takes place without any contact with the container; ensuring the hygienic properties are preserved.
The unsealing machine is placed on the filling line, as close as possible to the filling station.
The unsealing machine is always equipped with standard seal control and container rejection functions.

FULLPACK     back up
The adoption of the Ribipack Fullpack concept does not require any changes in any operation, both at the glassmaker’s and at the filling company’s plant. In particular, the palletization and depalletization processes are absolutely unaffected, as the presence of the seal on the glass container ring does not require any non-standard handling.
Fullpack is an innovative palletization technique available only for Ribipack sealed bottles, as they do not require the same protection from contamination as unsealed bottles.
Fullpack is characterized by a significantly higher density than traditional pallets, thus reducing handling, storage and transportation costs. Its “hole” shaped interface allows a strict control of the bottles position and movements during the logistic process, therefore preventing any unwanted friction and wear on the bottles.
Fullpack is an option.
